POLICIES
In an effort to protect the safety and welfare of our customers and service providers please make yourself aware of the following policies and procedures before coming to the Salon.
Appointments - Services are scheduled by Appointment only. We are not accepting walk-ins until further notice.
Checking In - When you arrive at the Salon for your scheduled appointment you will have the following options/methods for checking in. PLEASE DO NOT come into the Salon unless you have exhausted the following check-in procedures.
- Go to poppysalondurham.com/checkin and fill out the information and it will send an email to our staff notifying us of your arrival & Check-in.
- If you are unable to check-in online, you can call (919) 246-6222 and choose the option to “check-in” for your location and inform the staff that you have arrived for your appointment. Be prepared to provide you appointment time and service provider.
- As a final alternative, you may Check-in at the desk outside, when available, or enter the salon for the sole purpose of notifying the front desk of your arrival.
Everyone will be required to complete the check-in and health screening at poppysalondurham.com/checkin before receiving your service.
We ask that you wait in your car until a member of the Poppy Salon staff calls you to enter the salon for your services.
Temperature Checks - All customers will have their temperature taken upon entry into the Salon using a touchless thermometer. If a customer registers a temperature above 100.4 degrees we will ask that you rebook your service for another time. Services will not be offered to anyone refusing a temperature check.
Heath Screening - All customers who are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in close proximity to someone exhibiting any of these symptoms, should not come to their scheduled appointments. (We will waive cancellation fees for Coronavirus reasons) Prior to receiving your service, each Customer will be asked and required to inform the Salon if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fever
- Chills
- Muscle pain
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
Everyone will be required to complete the check-in and health screening at poppysalondurham.com/checkin before receiving your service. Services will not be offered to anyone who is sick or exhibiting signs of illness and entry may be refused in the sole discretion of Poppy Salon.
Hand Washing/Gloves - After checking in, we will require each person to wash their hands prior to beginning their service. A member of the staff will escort you straight to the restroom to wash your hands upon entering the Salon. Please follow the posted guidelines for hand washing. We ask that you DO NOT wear gloves to your appointment. If you would like to wear gloves while in the Salon, they will be provided to you after washing your hands.
Social Distancing - Please maintain 6 feet between others as you move about the Salon and during the Checkout process. There are guides on the floor of the Salon to facilitate distancing.
PPE - All Customers will be required to wear a mask AT ALL TIMES during your service, regardless of age. Your service provider may instruct you to temporarily and partially remove portions of the mask (e.g. ear loops) to facilitate the service but should never be completely removed from the nose and mouth area (you may be asked to hold the mask in place.) Upon request, we will also have removable surgical tape available which can be used to secure your mask to your face during your service.
Service Modification Options - You will have the option to request modifications to the traditional service offerings. “Express options” to reduce your time in the Salon include a dry cut or forgoing complimentary shampoo and/or complementary blow-dry following your cut/color. Please note that if you are receiving a color service, we will NOT allow you to leave the Salon with the color in your hair for you to wash out at home.
Retail - Please refrain from handling any of the retail products. A member of our staff will retrieve the products recommended by your service provider at checkout.
Checkout - During checkout, we ask that you have your method of payment ready for processing and prefer that you use a card for payment. A very time consuming part of the Checkout process is rebooking your next appointment. During your service, your stylist will inform you then number of weeks before you should return. Please consult your calendar BEFORE going to the desk to check-out and have 2 or 3 days and times that work for your schedule. Given the demand, We strongly suggest that you book your next appointment before leaving the Salon.
Additional Restrictions - Our waiting area is closed until further notice. Any person not receiving a service will not be permitted in the Salon. We will not be providing beverages or magazines for use. Please bring a drink and/or reading material with you should you desire.
Postings - We are required by law to inform you of the maximum occupancy and other postings. Please follow all posted instructions.
How you can help - Most of all we ask for your patience. We are doing our best to protect the health and safety or our customers and service providers.
Modification & Enforcement of Policies - Poppy Salon reserves the right to revise and/or enforce these policies and reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a service at any time at its sole discretion.
COVID-19 Warning - We have taken enhanced health and safety measures—for you, our other guests, and service providers. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting Poppy Salon. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting Poppy Salon location you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Let’s keep each other healthy and safe.
WE ARE DOING OUR PART
Here is a partial list of our efforts to keep you and our staff safe and healthy.
- All Employees have been provided training, educational materials, and reinforcement on proper sanitation, handwashing, cough and sneeze etiquette, using PPE, and other protective behaviors.
- The Salon has been thoroughly clean and disinfected prior to reopening. We will deep clean and disinfect the entire salon at the end of every day. Our staff will be continuing to sanitize and disinfect high touch surfaces throughout the day. Stations, shampoo bowls and all equipment are sanitized before beginning work and between each client. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the Salon.
- All employees are temperature & health screened before beginning their shift.
- Service providers are required to wash their hands before beginning a shift and after each customer.
- PPE - Our service providers are required to wear masks at all times and, are not required to wear, but are provided with face shields, gloves & gowns. If gloves or gowns are worn by the service provider they will be changed between each customer.
- All linens, towels, drapes, capes & smocks will only be used once and washed & sanitized before reuse.
- The reception area is closed and we are not permitting anyone other than the customer receiving their service to enter the salon, with the exception of one parent for a minor child.
